Research
Guided by science, grounded in data, every action we take begins with understanding
At LagoonLife Foundation, science guides every step of our work. Through a formal collaboration with the University of Mauritius, our research efforts are embedded in all restoration activities, from coral propagation to ecological monitoring. This dedicated Research page serves as a transparent window into the discoveries, data, and fieldwork supporting our coral rehabilitation mission.
Here, visitors will find regular updates on coral species resilience, lagoon biodiversity, and environmental indicators such as water temperature, salinity, turbidity, and pH levels. These findings will emerge from field samplings, lab analysis, and underwater observations conducted in the coral nursery zones and surrounding reef areas in the southwest of Mauritius.
Thanks to the support of the LagoonFlight team, a METEO station has been installed at the entrance of the lagoon, near the location where their seaplanes begin operations. This station provides continuous, real-time data on water temperature, tidal patterns, and current activity. These daily environmental updates allow us to better understand how lagoon conditions shift over time and how corals respond to natural and human-induced changes.
This page will evolve into a public-facing platform for scientific transparency and ecological awareness. By sharing the results of our studies, we aim to educate, engage, and contribute to national and global understanding of coral reef resilience and lagoon restoration.
